A Vernon woman was put through a terrifying ordeal after two people forced their way into her home, and then ransacked it.

The incident, which police are calling a home invasion, happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday (March 9) in the 9000 block of Tronson Road (Okanagan Landing area), with the 37-year-old victim able to flee to a nearby residence to call police.

The suspects had fled by the time officers and a police dog unit arrived in what investigators believed was a targeted incident.

“The victim, although not physically injured, has been put in contact with RCMP Victim Services given the nature of the incident,” RCMP media relations officer, Cpl. Tania Finn said.

The RCMP’s general investigation section, with support from the forensic identification section, continue their investigation into the matter.
