Arena project draws several bids
An idea that was first talked about nearly four years ago, is almost ready for the construction to begin.
Lumby won Kraft Hockeyville in 2016 which generated a $100,000 grant from the food company which organizers targeted for improvements to the village’s Pat Duke Memorial Arena.
Today, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) announced it has received five bids to upgrade the 53-year-old arena — and all were with in the project’s $3-million budget.
“I’m pleased to see that the project received interest from the construction community,” said Rick Fairbairn, RDNO Area D Director and Chair of the White Valley Parks, Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee.
