Robbery suspect drops knife at scene
Police are trying to track down a man who was brandishing a knife while attempting to rob a Vernon business.
The suspect walked behind the till at the store in the 3700 block of 32nd Street last Friday (Feb. 28) around 3 p.m.
“The clerk told the man he was not permitted in that area and asked him to leave,” RCMP Cpl. Tania Finn said. “The man demanded money and the clerk noticed the man had a knife in his hand.”
A second clerk, working in the back office, heard the exchange, and confronted the man with a stool, causing the suspect to flee without any money.
