New payment location during City Hall renovations

Feb 27, 2020 | 1:00 PM

Ongoing renovations to Vernon city hall will mean a change to where members of the public make their in-person payments.

As of Friday, March 6, the city hall cash station will be closed. People will be directed to the front counter of the Community Services Building next door in the former library building at 3001 32nd Avenue.

The change in service, which is until further notice, will allow the city to complete renovations to its main floor, which include a new cemetery inquiries office and redeveloped workspaces for an expanded financial services team.

“All changes are being made within the existing department space,” Christy Poirier, manager of communications and grants, said.

While the renovations are underway, contact information for the finance department will remain the same.

For people who have a utility bill or cemetery question, staff members will still be available at city hall, but they are encouraged to book an appointment for either of these matters before visiting the office.

The finance department can be reached at 250-545-1361 or through the city’s website.
