Geese cull put off for 2020
Vernon council has narrowly defeated a proposed $41,000 plan to cull geese living at Kin Beach and Swan Lake.
Mayor Victor Cumming says the 3-3 vote at Monday’s meeting means the plan will not proceed this year and is “at least a year away.”
He says a deeper conversation is needed with the Okanagan Indian Band and RDNO Electoral Area B about the growing goose population.
Councillor Dalvir Nahal was in favour of the cull, as were councillors Scott Anderson and Brian Quiring.
