Feb 12, 2020 | 5:12 PM

Salmon Arm RCMP say a Vernon man in his thirties suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97B last (Tuesday) night.

An Armstrong man in his seventies was also injured.

Police responded to the scene on the 7000 block of the highway around 9:15 p.m. to find a head-on collision had taken place.

“A black car was traveling north and collided head-on with a south bound car,” said detachment commander Staff Sgt. Scott West in a press release.

West said the driver of the black car “had to be cut from the wreckage of his vehicle and he suffered serious injuries that required his transport to Vernon Jubilee Hospital.”

The older driver from Armstrong was also taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries.

“The highway was closed for a period of time to investigate the crash. We appreciate the public’s patience.”

West said any witnesses to the crash are asked to call the Salmon Arm RCMP detachment.
