Stats confirm January had more snow than previous years
Vernon had 36 per cent more precipitation than normal in January.
According to Environment Canada 50.9 millimetres in snow or rain fell over the month, about 13 mm above the normal.
However, it was not a record amount — in fact it was the 30th wettest January, with records going back more than 100 years.
As for the temperature, there was a wide range in January.
