Curbside recycling not a RDNO responsibility

Jan 23, 2020 | 8:00 AM

A flurry complaints both on the phone and social media about the lack of curbside recycling pickups has prompted a reminder from the Regional District of the North Okanagan.

Contrary to comments posted on social media, the regional district says they are not involved with curbside recycling in any way.

“We are receiving lots of phone calls from residents about curbside recycling pick-up, and while we always like to help, we are in no way involved in this service. The RDNO does not do curbside recycling or garbage pick-up anywhere, and we do not hold the contract for Recycle BC or Emterra,” said Ashley Gregerson, communications officer for the Regional District of the North Okanagan.

The RDNO is encouraging people with recycling woes to download the Recycle B.C. app for updates and information about collection.
