Water source turned back on

Jan 22, 2020 | 2:58 PM

Greater Vernon homes and businesses are back to being serviced by the normal two water sources.

The utility had been down to just the Duteau Creek source for the last few weeks to allow for a capital project at the Kal Lake Pump House to make it flood resistent.

“Greater Vernon Water is now returning to normal operations by supplying water from our two sources; the Duteau Creek Water Treatment Plant supplied by Duteau Creek and the Mission Hill Water Treatment Plant supplied by Kalamalka Lake,” Tricia Brett, water quality manager with the Regional District of North Okanagan, said.

The utility provides water for about 58,000 residents in Greater Vernon.
