Third washroom for downtown

Vernon council will discuss a proposal for adding a third public washroom in the downtown, at its meeting this afternoon.

Staff is recommending the facility be located in the 3500 block of Linear Park along 25th Avenue, where homeless residents congregate during the day.

Staff say the project could go ahead once the existing Dragoons Memorial Monument in that area is removed and relocated.

The other downtown facilities that have been instaled this year are on 30th Avenue near the former Safeway and 31st Avenue by the Transit exchange.
