Trash pickup days adjusted for holidays

Garbage collection days will change for some Vernon residents over the holidays.

The City of Vernon says Waste Connections Canada will be adjusting some of its pickup days to accommodate the Christmas and New Year’s period.

“Monday and Tuesday collections will not be affected. If your collection day falls on Christmas day (Wednesday), it will be collected the following day. Regular Thursday collections will be moved to Friday and Friday’s regular collection day will be moved to Saturday. The same schedule will apply for the week of New Year’s,” said a city news release.

Residents are asked to have their waste at the curb-side by 7 a.m.
