Christmas Lights Tour back for another holiday season

Dec 8, 2019 | 2:39 PM

It is a chance to see some of the best Christmas light displays around Vernon, while enjoying a ride on a transit bus.

Vernon Regional Transit has announced a return of its Christmas Light Tours on Dec. 15, 16 and 17.

“Riders will see some of the most festive homes and businesses around town and marvel at the wondrous displays of lights, décor, and Christmas magic, all from the comfort and warmth of a Vernon Regional Transit bus,” said Christy Poirier, communications and grants manager with the city.

Tours will leave at 7:15 p.m. each night from the clock tower at the corner of 32nd Avenue and 31st Street, near the Vernon Museum and Archives.

The tours last about two hours and there will be a break for treats and washroom use.

“This very popular event is expected to sell out quickly. Tickets are $3 each and must be purchased in advance from the BC Transit office located at 2400 43rd Street during regular business hours,” said Poirier.

Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis with a maximum of six tickets per person.

All money raised will be donated to the Salvation Army Food Bank.
