National Impaired Driving Enforcement day is Dec. 7

Dec 6, 2019 | 5:00 PM

It’s a leading cause of death in B.C and officers will be out in full force tomorrow (Dec. 7) as part of National Impaired Driving Enforcement day.

The Vernon- North Okanagan RCMP will be out conducting patrols and check stops to keep the road safe this holiday season.

The RCMP are reminding motorists that impairment is not limited to alcohol. They say drugs whether prescription or illegal can also trigger impairment and they yield the same penalties.

Police are also reminding the public to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver.
