Cookie sales bring a smile to everyone

Nov 6, 2019 | 3:45 PM

As the cookie crumbles, it was a huge success.

The annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign raised $18,774 for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.

The chocolate chunk cookies decorated with blue eyes and a pink smile were sold for $1 back in September in a national campaign by the restaurant, with full proceeds going to local charities.

“We were blown away by the success of this year’s Smile Cookie campaign. We are tremendously proud of how our team members and guests came together to raise funds for healthcare in our community,” Danica Currie, operations manager, Tim Hortons Vernon said. “My parents, Dan and Jamie Currie, local Tim Hortons owner-operators, have donated the proceeds from the Smile Cookie campaign to the foundation for over 10 years, and we are proud to do so again.”

“We are grateful to once again be the recipient of this generous donation from Tim Hortons and local owners Dan and Jamie Currie,” Kate McBrearty, the VJH Foundation executive director, said. “Their long-time support means so much to us. We are very grateful for their generosity.”

Tim Hortons has been supporting local communities through the Smile Cookie program since 1996.
