Update: Six injured in Lake Country crash

Update 9:50 a.m.

RCMP say six people were injured in a a crash on Highway 97 in Lake Country this morning near Oceola Road.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash just after 7 a.m. which tied up traffic, but is now cleared.

“When police arrived at scene, they found six injured parties on scene and some of which were transported to hospital for medical treatment,” said Cpl. Meghan Foster

Foster says the cause is under investigation.

“The extent of the injuries are not known as this time as the persons involved are still being assessed by medical staff.”

Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288.

Update 9 a.m.

The crash site at Oceola Road has been cleared, but reports say there is still backups for southbound traffic due to construction near the Husky station in Lake Country.

Traffic is slow on Highway 97 in Lake Country this morning after an accident just after 7 a.m.

The crash is at the intersection of Oceola Road.
