PAC hosts one of final all-candidates forums

Oct 8, 2019 | 12:37 PM

All five of the candidates will be on hand at what will likely be the best attended all-candidates forum in Vernon for the Oct. 21 federal election.

The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society are co-hosting a forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 8 at the Performing Arts Centre (PAC).

“The public is invited to come meet their five North Okanagan-Shuswap constituency candidates and get the chance to pose their own most pressing issues for the upcoming federal election on October 21,” said Jim Harding, executive director of the PAC.

“All five candidates have confirmed they will be in attendance, and we will have a combination of questions from the sponsors as well as from the public,” Richard Rolke, communications and programming with the Chamber of Commerce, said.

The moderator will be Chris Walker of CBC Radio.

Admission is free but the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society is inviting attendees to donate what they can to help support the society’s youth programs and annual bursary fund.

Doors open to the public at 6:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce; the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society; the BC Fruit Grower’s Association; and Castanet-Vernon.
