Oct 5, 2019 | 6:54 PM

The Vernon Vipers forgot to bring their offense to the BCHL Showcase Festival.

For the second straight game at the event in Penticton, the Vipers were held off the scoresheet, falling 4-0 to the West Kelowna Warriors.

On Friday, the snake-bit Snakes lost 1-0 to the Penticton Vees.

The Warriors outshot Vernon 31-29 in a penalty-filled game at the South Okanagan Events Centre Saturday afternoon.

Victoria native Johnny Derrick got the shutout for W-K who improved to 2-9-2-0 on the season.

Abbotsford product Austin Chorney led the offence with two goals.

Head coach Jason McKee and the Vipers fall to 3-5 on the season as they next play in Chilliwack against the Chiefs Wednesday, with the pre-game show on Beach Radio at 6:45 p.m.

Vees win goaltender’s duel

The goalies stole the show.

Yaniv Perets stopped all 15 shots to backstop the Penticton Vees over the Vernon Vipers 1-0 at the South Okanagan Events Centre Friday.

Max Palaga actually had a better game than Perets, making 33 saves for Vernon in taking the loss.

The only goal of the game came from Cade Webber at 18:32 of the first period for the Vees who improved to 9-0 with the win.

A crowd of 2,098 saw the contest in Penticton.site of the BCHL Showcase Festival, which continues Saturday.

The Vipers, now 3-4 on the season, take on the West Kelowna Warriors at 4 p.m. Saturday in Penticton, with the pre game show on Beach Radio starting at 3:45.
