Update: Crash knocks out traffic lights

Sep 4, 2019 | 4:35 PM

Sept. 5

Police have issued an update on a crash that damaged the traffic light and caused traffic issues for several hours at 48th Ave. and Pleasant Valley Road near Butcher Boys Wednesday afternoon.

Mounties say a vehicle turning left onto PV Road around 3 p.m. failed to yield to oncoming traffic and hit the other vehicle, causing moderate damage to both.

“Emergency Health Services attended and transported for minor injuries. No signs of impairment were observed,” says RCMP Const. Kelly Brett, Media Relations Officer.

The traffic light was left flashing red for several hours, meaning motorists had to use the four-way-stop system until repairs were made.

Sept. 4

There have been traffic backups on 48th Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon this afternoon.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash around 4 p.m. and that led to the traffic lights at that intersection not working.

Vehicles were having to adhere to the four way traffic stop system which created delays.

Vernon Matters has requested details from the RCMP.
