Fire on west side of Kal Lake dealt with

A new wildfire on the west side of Kalamalka Lake is no longer a concern.

The small fire was reported today on Highridge Road, north of Kekuli Bay Provincial Park.

“We had one BCWS officer respond based on the reports that were sent in, and the incident was extinguished when we arrived on site,” said Taylor MacDonald, information officer with the B.C. Wildfire Service.

The cause is not known.
