Hundreds of thousands of people have taken a ride or walk on the northern part of the Okanagan Rail Trail so far this year.
Statistics from the Regional District of North Okanagan indicate 505,192 users have been counted on the trail from Coldstream to Kekuli Bay since January, the bulk of that since March 1 (497,041).
Mike Fox, RDNO’s General Manager of Community Services, says that’s based on counters located at the Kickwillie Loop and Kekuli Bay locations.
“The counters run off batteries similar to traffic counters,” Fox told Vernon Matters.
