Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a number of areas of B.C. including the Okanagan.

According to the weather agency, a thunderstorm is expected to develop this morning and intensify early this afternoon.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” the statement said.
Similar advisories were issued for the Coquihalla and Connector areas, along with the South Thompson and Nicola regions.
