Co-op donates $30K to build learning circle
After five years and more than 100 projects, Co-op Community Spaces is continuing to invest in community projects across Western Canada – including new funding for the Salmon Arm West Outdoor Learning Project.
Co-op is providing $30,000 to help build the Shannon Sharp Learning Circle at Salmon Arm West Elementary School.
The circular structure will act as an outdoor classroom and shelter to share knowledge and come together.
“The Shannon Sharp Learning Circle is a tribute to a beloved teacher and will provide much needed shade and shelter for learning and recreation at Salmon Arm West Elementary. Its circular design reflects our strong connection to our Indigenous community, celebrating the four directions. The staff, students and families at Salmon Arm West are extremely grateful to the Armstrong Regional Co-op, and Co-op Community Spaces for helping us achieve this dream,” Val Edgell, principal at Salmon Arm West Elementary, said.
