Positive response to Coldstream plans

Jun 18, 2019 | 2:05 PM

The District of Coldstream appears to have the support of residents for the future of 16506 Kalamalka Road, just north of Dutch’s campground.

More than 50 people attended the Monday evening open house at Coldstream Municipal Hall to look over concept plans and speak with both councillors and district staff.

The property is expected to serve as the primary entrance to the Okanagan Rail Trail from Coldstream.

Plans include a parking lot, washrooms and other facilities.

“It was a great evening to interact with the community and hear the input for the property,” Trevor Seibel, Coldstream’s chief administrative officer, said. “We received a lot of positive support for the project and a lot of good information through the questionnaire provided for this event.”

He said the district remains open to input on the future development of the property until June 28.

All the information presented at the open house, including the questionnaire, can be found on the district’s website at www.coldstream.ca.

A follow-up report will be given to council once the feedback is complete.
