Smash and Dash At Casino

Vernon’s casino sustained significant damage after a vehicle plowed into its front doors in an attempt to steal an ATM machine.

Police say the incident took place around 4 am Wednesday at Lake City Casino on Anderson Way.

“Surveillance images of the incident show two male suspects as they smash through the front door gaining access to the front lobby area, followed by an attempt to steal an ATM (automated teller machine). The theft was unsuccessful and the thieves drove off empty handed, not before causing significant damage to Casino property,” says Cst. Kelly Brett of Vernon RCMP.

Mounties have released blurry surveillance images of the suspects in the hopes it could lead to identification.

The truck used was a green Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up with a canopy of similar colour, and a small sticker on the rear canopy window on the lower right hand side.

Suspect number one (pictured at left) was a man wearing a brown hoodie with blue jeans and white sneakers.

Suspect number two (right) was also a man wearing a dark coloured puff jacked, dark coloured pants, black runners with a white sole, and a ski mask over his face.
