Tech Top Up For Township

Dec 6, 2018 | 6:45 AM

Another North Okanagan municipality is turning to tech to cut back on paper costs.

Spallumcheen has approved budget of $6,500 dollars to provide iPads for council members.

Mayor Christine Fraser (pictured) says the tablets should pay for themselves in a couple years, in saved paper and printing fees.

A staff report says the change will save $2,500 a year in paper and printing costs.

It’s the same system the Regional District of North Okanagan is switching to.

“We’ll be able to utilize the same technology they’re using, and have the same technical backup as well,” Fraser tells Beach Radio News.
