Sheldon Veness, 25, appeared in Vernon provincial court Wednesday.
He is facing seven charges from the Marshall Road incident.
He was remanded in custody with his case put over to Dec. 6 for a bail hearing.

Police have arrested a suspect accused of breaking into a Vernon home while the residents were sleeping.
A van and some other items were stolen from a home on Marshall Road last Friday morning, with the van later found fully engulfed in flames near Okanagan Landing School.
The next day, police tried to arrest a suspect at a drive through in Okanagan Landing, but he drove over two curbs and sped away.
“Shortly after, the suspect was located a second time in the 4100 block of 24th Ave, where he fled from police on foot. The suspect male led police on a short pursuit over fences and through a creek where he was ultimately apprehended and taken into custody without injury,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.
25 year old Sheldon Veness of Vernon — who police call a prolific offender — is facing numerous charges, including arson, break and enter, theft, breach of probation, and dangerous driving.
Veness is being held in custody with a court date on November 21st.
“Numerous police officers were tasked with investigating this particular incident and through that, a suspect was identified as a known prolific offender in the Vernon area. This particular incident is a good example of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s commitment to reducing crime through prolific and priority offender management,” says Brett.
