Routine Halloween For RCMP

The weather cooperated, and all the little ghosts and goblins had fun.

That appears to be the outcome of Halloween activities in the North Okanagan last night, at least from an RCMP perspective.

Cst. Kelly Brett says police had no major incidents to deal with.

“The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are happy to report that Halloween evening went well with little to no major issues reported,” Brett tells Beach Radio News.

Community fireworks were lit off in the BX, Coldstream, Lavington and Armstrong.

The annual Treat Trail in Downtown Vernon had more trick or treaters than normal according to the Downtown Vernon Association.

Over 4,000 pedestrians visited the 60 participating businesses over a two hour period.

“The attendance numbers are higher than last year,” says DVA Events and Promotions Coordinator, Dudley Coulter, “and we’re happy to see so many children and their families come downtown and have some fun.”
