Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries

A 61 year old Vernon man was taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle.

Police say a vehicle struck the man just metres away from a marked crosswalk at 39th Avenue and 33rd Street, near the Performing Arts Centre, around 8:30 pm Wednesday.

“Emergency Health Services attended and transported the pedestrian, a 61 year old Vernon male, to the nearest medical facility with serious but non-life threatening injuries,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.

The driver, a 37 year old Vernon man, was cooperative with police and remained on scene, and he showed no signs of impairment, with  the investigation continuing.
