Coldstream Tops Local Support For Cultural Centre

Coldstream voters led the way in local support for a proposed new cultural centre in Vernon — but not by much.

The regional district has released a break down of how each of the three jurisdictions voted in Saturday’s referendum.

61 percent of Coldstream voters supported it (1590 Yes, 1000 No),  59% in RDNO (815 Yes, 560 No), and 58 percent in the City of Vernon (5445 Yes, 3797 No).

13,207 ballots were cast in the vote which gave RDNO consent to borrow up to 25 million dollars for a new cultural facility.
