House Fire Under Investigation

A house fire in Vernon’s BX this morning will likely displace a family until some repairs are made.

BX Swan Lake fire chief Bill Wacey says they arrived at the site on Mountridge Road just after 6 am.

“The homeowner was putting it out with a garden hose. It started at the bottom of the house and burned its way through the wall and aluminum siding. It certainly had potential (to spread), but somebody had knocked on their door and warned them there was a fire on the back side of the house,” Wacey told Beach Radio News.

There was fire and smoke damage, but the six family members inside got out safely.
