A new cultural complex could be built on a current parking lot in downtown Vernon, if voters give it the go ahead.
In a declassified in-camera motion, Vernon council says its preferred site for the facility is the Vernon block at 2910 32nd Avenue, which is owned by the city.
Council has directed its staff to negotiate with the regional district for the sale of up to one third of the property at fair market value.
RDNO will hold a referendum in October to seek approval to borrow up to 25 million dollars for the complex.
