Boil Water Notice For Mabel Lake

Jun 20, 2018 | 4:00 AM

A BOIL WATER NOTICE is in place for users of the Mabel Lake Water Utility.

The Regional District of North Okanagan, the water utility and Interior Health issued the notice last night.

The water system chlorinator malfunctioned, and was not delivering an adequate level of chlorine into the system.

RDNO says it will be working with Interior Health to meet Provincial standards before the Boil Water Notice is removed.

Until then,  it’s recommended that ALL customers in the affected area drink boiled water or a safe alternative.

What should customers do?
Water intended for the following uses should be boiled for one minute:
“drinking
“preparing any foods
“washing fruits and vegetables
“making beverages or ice
“brushing teeth
“preparing infant formula

Customers will be informed when water quality returns to normal via road signs and the RDNO website.
