Safe To Remove Sandbags Along Lake
It appears the flood threat is officially over on Okanagan Lake.
Central Okanagan Emergency Operations has announced residents can begin removing sandbags from private property, and return them to authorized locations until June 28th.
The lake is at 342.62 metres as of today — about 14 cm’s above full pool.
The log boom near Hot Sands Beach in Kelowna will be removed on Friday, while the booms near Swim Bay in Peachland and Maude-Roxby Bird Sanctuary in Kelowna will remain in place until the lake drops to full pool.
