RDNO Boss Creek Plan Moving Along

A proposed residential neighborhood in Area C of the RDNO that’s been in the planning for a decade, may be getting closer to proceed.

The Boss Creek Development would include 18 lots at 1301 Galiano Road.

Greater Vernon Advisory Director Mike Macnabb says the proposal has come back numerous times over the years with changes.

“Within the development itself, there were numerous partners and I think there were some struggles internally. Once we see something then we can comment on it. But it kept changing and it kept morphing into something else.”

Macnabb says the committee has granted the developer several utility variances with a goal of keeping the proposal moving ahead.

“And I just hope the developer will continue to move forward on this thing because we wouldn’t want it to stall and the developer say well okay he’s had enough and would like to move on.”

Macnabb says he’s received assurances that RDNO won’t be left with a problem to complete the waterworks needed for that area, should the developer abandon the project.
