RDNO Firm On Not Releasing Water From Reservoirs For Now

Lumby is finally getting a letter from the RDNO on its request to release excess water from the Aberdeen reservoirs to prevent flooding in the village.

The District has already said it can’t and that hasn’t changed.

“Our Aberdeen reservoirs are at a dangerously low level and we’re disinclined to release any water right now, although there’s a good snow pack and we do hope that they fill there have been years when we’ve had a high snow pack and they fail to fill.”

That can result in water restrictions for Greater Water customers in the summer.
