SJHL Finals: The Game Must Go On

In the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey playoffs, the Estevan Bruins beat the Nipawin Hawks 5-2 in Game 1. Game 2 goes tonight in Nipawin.

Last night was a very emotional night as players from both the Nipawin Hawks and Estevan Bruins formed a circle around centre ice to honour the 16 who died in that horrific bus crash just over a week ago. Thirteen others were injured.

During the warm-up, Hawks players wore green helmets to honour the Broncos…and both teams were wearing Humboldt Broncos ribbons on their jerseys for the game.

First responders were also honoured and walked out onto the ice to a standing ovation.
