Police Investigate Suspicious House Fire

Apr 11, 2018 | 12:51 PM

The cause of a house fire in Armstrong may have involved foul play.

RCMP say they are investigating a blaze at 3660 Sage Avenue Monday night.

When police arrived, the rear of the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Twenty-four Armstrong-Spallumcheen firefighters put it out, but not before the home was gutted, and some nearby homes were damaged.

The four adults who lived there lost virtually all of their belongings, and one man suffered burns to his hand.

Cst. Kelly Brett says the suspicious fire is not considered linked to previous arsons in the area.

“Occupants of the home and community members are understandably shaken from this event as recent arsons have occurred in the Armstrong area, however this fire is being treated as a separate suspicious incident.”
