Mayor Sends Condolences To Humboldt

People are encouraged to wear a hockey jersey to work or school Thursday to show support for the Humboldt hockey victims and their families.

Vernon Mayor Akbal Mund says the tragedy hits home with any community that has a hockey team.

“The idea is to wear your jersey on that day, to show your support for the community,  to let them know we’re all behind them. The more support they get, I think the community will eventually heal,” says Mund.

Mund sent a email expressing the city’s condolences to the mayor of Humboldt, Rob Muench.
