Resident Burns Field, Not Aware of Bylaw

A new resident to the North Okanagan got updated on the no burning bylaw currently in lace.

The BX-Swan Lake Fire Department was called to a grass fire on L and A Road Friday afternoon.

Fire chief Bill Wacey says it was not a risk to nearby properties.

“It was a guy burning off fields, new people who didn’t know the bylaw, what they were supposed to do or not supposed to do, so he had it under control,” Wacey tells CJIB News.
