RDNO Urges Residents To Be Prepared For Flooding
The Regional District of North Okanagan is out with a list of sites where residents can get access to sand and sandbags, if they want to prepare for flooding.
Manager of Protective Services, Alistair Crick, says there has been only minor incidents of localized flooding reported so far.
He says they’re encouraging residents to to take note of flood prevention and property protection measures as a precaution.
“Flooding is a common, naturally occurring event in British Columbia and North Okanagan property owners are responsible for any measures required for flood protection on private property,” says Crick.
