New Members Join DVA Board

Mar 21, 2018 | 6:00 PM

The Downtown Vernon Association is encouraged to see new members join their board of directors.

Executive director Susan Lehman says six new members came forward at their annual meeting this week.

“I think what’s most exciting is we have a really good mix of experience, along with young business owners, and young management. It’s a really good cross section of what happening downtown,” Lehman tells CJIB News.

The association, which represents 550 businesses, will elect its leadership group next week.

Melanie Prince of Wayside Press is the current president.

Lehman says any new plans will also be discussed then.

“We’ll continue working on the strategies in place, but we’re at the time where we will be updating our strategic plan.”

The newly elected directors are David Scarlatescu (The Sprouted Fig), Shanna Rowney (Evolve Education Systems), Tara Berger (Nature’s Fare), Umang Patel (RBC), Tegan Carruthers (BDO), and Alysia Lor-Knill (Teassential). They join the incumbent board of Melanie Prince (Wayside Press), Andrew Fradley (Eclectic Med), Selena Stearns (Community Futures), Krystin Kempton (Nixon Wenger), and Cindy Marshall (Nolan’s Pharmasave).
