Mar 14, 2018 | 5:27 PM

A man charged with offences involving sex trade workers in the North Okanagan, now faces a new charge from the Lower Mainland.

RCMP says Curtis Wayne Sagmoen has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm in relation to a 2013 event in Maple Ridge.

“The RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit is continuing their investigation into allegations against Curtis Sagmoen of violence against women,” says RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

“As part of this ongoing investigation, new information has come to light in relation to an incident which occurred in Maple Ridge in 2013, which permitted investigators to forward this information to the BC Prosecution Service for consideration of additional criminal charges against Curtis Sagmoen.”

Sagmoen faces eight charges connected to alleged incidents near Falkland last summer, and is being held in custody.

Those charges include pointing a firearm, uttering threats, and disguising his face.

A preliminary inquiry on those charges will be held Oct. 22.
