Caetani Looking For Repair Funds

Mar 12, 2018 | 7:18 AM

The Caetani Cultural Centre is Vernon is almost ready to fully open its facility to the public.

Executive director Susan Brandoli told the Greater Vernon Advisory Board, they’re seeking 35-thousand dollars to make that happen.

“It will effectively provide the community, the City of Vernon and the greater North Okanagan community, with an additional 8,000 square feet of arts, cultural, and heritage programming and presentation spaces.”

Brandoli says they need the funds to remove asbestos from the 120 year old house on Pleasant Valley Road, and to improve the electrical system.

Brandoli says over $205,000 has been raised for the ‘Open House’ project which has gone into a fire suppression system, an alarm system and HVAC and electrical upgrades.

The committee will discuss the request at its next meeting.
