Dog Bylaw Gets Closer Look

Staff with the Regional District of North Okanagan have been directed to take another look at the region’s Dog Control Bylaw.

This comes after a letter to the District suggesting that the bylaw be amended to include leashing restrictions on dogs even in an off-leash area.

Board Chair Bob Fleming says it’s a little unclear about whether there`s a problem.

“The question was raised, like dogs off-leash. We’ve got off-leash areas in parks. We`re not going to say that you have to have your dog on a leash in an off-leash park. That kind of defeats the purpose.”
