Vernon Chamber Recognizes Business Excellence

Last night the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce presented the 34th Annual Business Excellence Awards.

The gala event is regarded by members as the biggest night of the year for the business community in the area.

BX Press Cidery won the prestigious Business of the Year Award.

A new award, Innovator of the Year, was won by  the PickleBall Depot, while the Small Business of the Year Award went to One Step Footcare. The  Cobbler’s Rack and Shoe repairs was named as the New Business of the Year.

In the individual awards…Byron Bolton of Kingfisher Boats was named Business Person of the Year. The Community Leader Award went to  Lisa Anderson of the Vernon Upper Room Mission. The high profile Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award went to Linda Heng of The Beauty Bar.

Other winners getting recognized on the night included…

• Manufacturer of the Year: BX Press Cidery

• Caufields Engraving named Employer of the Year

• Tourism Excellence Award went to Silver Star Mountain Resort

• Green Business of the Year was picked up by ROOST Solar

• Customer Service of the Year went to The Crate Escape Dog Adventures

• Non-Profit Excellence:  Bollywood Bang-GNSS

• North Okanagan Valley Gleaners took the coveted People’s Choice Award.

• Solopreneur of the Year was earned by Heather Bottoms of She Devil Delights-

Presented by Valley First Credit Union and attended by many staff members of Beach Radio Vernon…this year’s Awards Gala drew a crowd of well over 300.

This annual affair,  sponsored by the Chamber, recognizes the top businesses and organizations as well as individuals in 15 significant categories.
