RCMP in Manitoba say a man arrested in Calgary in connection with a number of sexual assaults in Manitoba may be linked to alleged sexual assaults in the Okanagan.

Police say that 57 year old  Ivan Valintine Cesnik was arrested by RCMP in Calgary and transported to Winnipeg to face charges related to multiple sexual assaults committed on girls as young as seven.

On January 22, 2018, Oakbank RCMP received a report regarding a historical sexual assault involving four female victims, three aged eight and one aged seven.

Officers immediately launched an investigation, and it was determined that Cesnik had committed the assaults at his residence in Garson in the RM of Brokenhead, and at a rural residence in the RM of Springfield over a period of time between 2010 and 2015.

Cesnik moved to Calgary around that time and no longer had contact with his victims.

He is now charged with three counts of sexual assault, three of uttering threats, three counts of sexual Interference and two counts of administering a noxious substance

RCMP are concerned there may be more victims in the Manitoba, Alberta and Kelowna area and encourage anyone who has information to reach out to the police.

Anyone in the area who knows of Ivan Valintine Cesnik is asked to call their local RCMP detachment.
