Vernon SAR Rescue Near Lumby

Vernon Search & Rescue Heli-Winch team has made another rescue in situation which could have taken longer without the chopper.

The team flew into the Park/Nelson mountain area northeast of Lumby yesterday to assist in the rescue of a snow mobiler.

In a post on its Facebook page, the search team says the man was seriously injured while snowmobiling with friends.

They were able to send an SOS signal on a GPS device which alerted RCMP which in turn contacted Vernon Search and Rescue..
