Lumby Budgets For Flood Work

The village of Lumby says a project to update some of its flooding preparations is on time and on budget.
Work on floodplain mapping by an engineering firm (Kerr Wood Leidal) is nearing completion, while a review of earthworks installed during last May’s emergency response to flooding have been assessed on a hydraulic and geo-technical basis.
The consultant will be presenting council with a report outlining their findings, and detailing some options and recommendations going forward.
“In anticipation of the report, as part of the 2018 Financial Plan (budgeting) process, council has earmarked $80,000 in local funding so that Lumby can immediately proceed with some of the most critical, time-sensitive options,” says a release from the village.
