Canadian Alex Beaulieu-Marchand won bronze in men’s slope style at the Winter Olympics. It was Canada’s 16th medal of the Games.

The Canadian men’s hockey team shut out hosts South Korea 4-0 this morning to receive a bye to the quarter finals.

Canada finished in second place in Group B standings with seven points, two behind the Czech Republic, at a perfect 3-0-0 with nine points in preliminary round play.

Kevin Poulin stopped all 19 shots he faced, posting a shutout in his Olympics debut for Canada.

On the other end of the ice, Canadian-born Matt Dalton was solid between the pipes in making 45 saves for South Korea.

The Canadian men and the Czechs are joined by Sweden and the Olympic Athletes of Russia in receiving quarterfinal byes.
