Snowfall Warning For Interior

For Fraser Canyon, north including Lillooet. For Fraser Canyon, south including Lytton. For South Thompson. For Nicola. For Similkameen. For North Okanagan, including Vernon. For Central Okanagan, including Kelowna. For South Okanagan, including Penticton. For Shuswap. For Arrow Lakes, Slocan Lake. For Boundary. For West Kootenay. For Kootenay Lake. For East Kootenay, south including Cranbrook. For East Kootenay, north including Invermere. For Elk Valley.

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Heavy snowfall for the Southern Interior and Kootenays.

A strong Pacific low pressure system will move eastward across northern Washington State today. Snow is forecast to begin early this morning and ease tonight. In addition, strong winds and areas of blowing snow are expected with the low. Total snowfall accumulations for the valleys will range between 10 to 20 cm with locally higher amounts, while the high elevation highway passes can expect 20 to 30 cm.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
